Happy Valentine’s Day

I was SO excited to celebrate our first Valentine’s Day with Joey.  My parents always made such a big deal over it when we were growing up and I wanted to do the same for him.  Greg even helped me tape the hearts to the door (after a little convincing).

Joey woke up to his door decorated and had a blast pulling all of the hearts off and crinkling them all while I was trying to take a photo. Yes, I know I spelled “Valentine” incorrectly, but when weighing correct spelling v. color coordination (I ran out of purple “E’s”), coordination won.

Lesson learned: Keep a better eye on Joey in dressing rooms-he’s no longer an easy infant, but rather an active toddler.

Don’t worry, Greg and I celebrated too!  We spent Saturday night just the two of us and even got to sleep in until 9AM (thanks to Bubbie and Zeyde!)  After our “sleep in,” we picked Joey up and took him out for brunch.   We went to The Bedford and were pleasantly surprised by the food!

My awesome (not so healthy) pesto, goat cheese and root veggies omelette!

The scene was pretty neat too, set inside an old bank.  Joey had a great time exploring in the vault!

Joey sat in his chair looking up at the ceiling for 90% of the meal.  There was nothing special up above, except some really pretty white trim.

Greg took me for a special, gluten-free Italian dinner last night at Francesca’s on Taylor.  Cari was to babysit Joey but we came home to Abby, Bubbie, Zeyde and Cari on the couch watching Joey play!  Thanks, Silverman Gang!
