Happy Birthday to Me

We laid low this year and made absolutely no plans, as Joey was sick and I wasn’t feeling great either.  Greg went and picked up breakfast in the morning from Meli.  It took him almost an hour to get back home because of the marathon.  I made sure to enjoy every bite of my blueberry pancakes!

We spent some time during Joey’s afternoon nap getting his big boy room ready.  We also tried out a bunch of different paint combinations and settled on navy trim and light gray walls.  It’s going to look awesome (painting began today)!  We’ll officially move him in this weekend, as long as Aunt Cari makes herself available to come and help us 🙂

We had an impromptu dinner (and ordered in my favorite, Rosebud), where the boys watched the Bears game and the girls got a bunch of stuff together for Baby Panozzo (arriving in just 4 weeks!)

Thanks for the awesome cupcakes, Burnetts!

Sick :(

Greg and I spent the majority of the evening watching Elmo’s World.  It was about the only thing that made Joey happy.

Besides asking for Elmo, he’s been asking to blow bubbles about 100Xday over the last week.  We made sure to have a long bubble session last night too.

We also spent a lot of time in the tub, trying to get his fever down.  Joey LOVED the tub

….so much so that he pooped in it so I would have to let him take another bath!

QT with The Waxes

CZ (Howard’s sister) and Tom (Howard’s brother-in-law) were in town this past week so we headed to Lisa & Bill’s for brunch on Saturday!

All photos are courtesy of the new family photographer, Ellis.

As always, they put together quite the spread….

Between their pet bunny rabbits and the goldfish, Joey was in heaven!

He also showed Naiya and Ellis his football skills

Close up!

After brunch, we headed to cousin Ali’s baby shower.  They had it at a really neat theater on Milwaukee.  Bubbie put together one of her famous ducks, filled with Toys R Us gear.  I forgot how much you need for Baby #1.  Fortunately, our list for G2 is A LOT shorter!

Joey loved all of the balloons (and cookies).

Despite it being held during his nap time, he was able to last over an hour! I think it had a lot to do with Elmo’s World on my iPhone

Yom Kippur 2012

Joey and I had an easy fast this year 🙂  Joey had a pretty good time in shul (as did we).  It’s a lot more fun with kids!  We attended the children’s service with him, but he preferred the adult service this year.  He pretty much ate 90% of the time.  If his mouth wasn’t full, he was talking so we just made sure to keep his mouth full (fruit loops, goldfish, sucker, and fruit snacks).

On the way home, we stopped to pick him up lunch so I could feed him in the car before he had a chance to fall asleep.  He didnt even get 1 french fry in his mouth before crashing…

We broke the fast at Northmoor this year and had our own private room, which meant  Joey was able to run free throughout the meal.  Check out our gigantic table!

Moving on to dinner (he at about 1/10 of what I put on his plate)

He was smart enough to save room for dessert….

Quality time with Aunt Kate and Uncle Shelley

Joey’s Great Aunt Kate and Great Uncle Shelley were in town last week for Rosh Hashana.  We made sure to have dinner plans with them before they left!  We headed to Bella Notte and had a great dinner.  After dinner, they came back to our house to hang for a bit.  Joey loved showing off his football skills

Aquadoodle

Our little Picasso has been busy creating his masterpiece all morning long!

This was my “I’m going back to work and feel a little guilty” gift.  It’s been a hit so far!  He’d really be a happy camper if he had access to the front hall closet where I’m storing the “I don’t have time to play because I need to take care of a newborn” gifts.

We’re having a nephew!

Burnett Baby

It was secretly my preference for them to have a boy!  Joey and G2 are going to have so much fun rough housing with their new cousin!

Jane’s Baby Naming

The Wigoda’s had us over for Shabbos tonight for Jane’s baby naming.  They had a brief ceremony and their older kids, Jack and Julia, participated too!

Finger Painting

Breanna had a great activity planned for Joey yesterday.  She made edible finger paint at home and brought it to our house for Joey to try out!  He was hesitant at first, but soon got into it (and even tasted the paint, too!)

They spent a good part of the afternoon in the park, playing football and watching the older kids play soccer.

G2- 27 Week Appointment

My 27 week appointment was full of exciting things….the glucose tolerance test, flu shot and RhoGAM shot.  G2 is looking great!  He has a strong heart beat and is still measuring 2 weeks big.  He’s head down and it feels like he’s ready to go.  Kicks are getting stronger and I can not only feel him kick, but see him kick as well!  I’m definitely feeling a whole lot more pressure than I did with Joey…it feels as though I’m 40 weeks along at this point.  Hopefully its temporary (although its already been 2 weeks) and lets up sometime soon?!

During our next appointment (32 weeks), we’ll get our first 3D peek of G2.  Dr. Sibul wants to check his size 🙂 I’m dying to know if he’ll have light hair or dark (although we’ll have to wait until he arrives to find that one out)!

Rosh Hashanah 2012

Joey wasn’t quite an angel again today, but we still had a great day.  Aunt Abby and Aunt Cari got Joey this life-size Elmo balloon.

Joey handled Elmo a lot better than the Ninja Turtles.  We gave him a huge “high-five” and he joined in the fun all afternoon.

Check out my new ride from Bubbie and Zeyde!

Too cool in my Benz, but too short to drive it.  Fortunately, Joey’s Aunts and Uncles used a pool stick to push the pedal all afternoon!

Just to get you a better perspective of how large Elmo really is!
