Happy 30th, Hollie!
I went out to celebrate Hollie’s 30th birthday this past weekend. We couldn’t find a sitter so Greg stayed home with the kids 🙁

Call me lame, but I’m just way too old for this place…
We were up and out of the house early the next morning so we could meet Lucy (and her parents) for a swim date in Deerfield. Joey LOVED the water park, much more than just the pool! He could have spent a few more hours there had it not been a bit chilly. Benji had a blast in the baby pool too, just crawling around like he owned the place!
Lunch followed at Michaels, obviously!
We ended up staying up north for the rest of the afternoon so Greg could get in 9 holes with Zeyde.
The boys had a great time playing in Bubbie’s basement, so much so that Joey refused to come home with us after dinner. Fortunately, Bubbie & Zeyde were happy to have a houseguest for the night!

Annual SAVO Picnic
We had the Savo Group picnic today. We had great weather (as always). It’s unbelievable how much larger the picnic gets each year. I still remember going to our first one six years ago and there were literally 30 or 40 people there. Today, there were easily several hundred….

Latest Benji Videos
It’s been more difficult to catch Joey on camera. He’s been a fussy pants lately, so much so that we brought him to the doctor to have his ears checked. She thinks he’s getting his 2-year molars and advised us to prepare for about a month of Captain Fussypants 🙁

Benji’s modeling career is really taking off (haha).

Way more exciting was his photo shoot earlier this week. He shot for V-Tech and he’s going to be on the packaging for 3 toys! The photographer said it takes about 6 months to go to production so everyone look out for our little stud come February!

Like a fish!
We skipped the lake this past weekend and headed to Northmoor on Saturday instead. Joey has made unbelievable progress in the pool this summer! He went from being terrified of stepping foot in the water to having a blast!

We left the boys at Northmoor for much needed round of golf and went back to Bubbie’s for a nap. Instead of napping, Benji decided to have a play session with Pacman.
After our morning with Bubbie and Zeyde, we got an amazing phone call. Nanny and Poppy wanted to have a sleepover with BOTH BOYS. After no discussion at all, we quickly agreed to give them up for the night!
The visited the park and even watched Thomas before bed!
It was another beautiful day on Sunday so after breakfast it was time to get back outside!

Friday with Bubbie Gogo
We made a special trip north today to visit with Bubbie GoGo!
Reading Bubbie’s copy of “Goodnight Moon” from when she was a baby (of course Bubbie Gogo had saved it!)
Cousin Harriet stopped by for a visit!
We had no idea that there was such a great park just 1 block away! After lunch, Bubbie joined us and we headed over to the park so Joey could explore!

Aunt Deb in charge!
Breanna was on vacation this week so Aunt Deb came over on Thursday to watch the kids while I got some work done. Joey had so much fun playing with her-so much so that she was the topic of his nap time babbling!

Afternoon Playdate
Aunt Lori & Sophie came over to play yesterday afternoon. We took a walk to Target to pick up a few ingredients for Taco Night.
Sophie had a lot of fun just watching the boys interact. Lori couldn’t believe how busy our house was, and the boys were on their best behavior yesterday afternoon!

Goodnight Joey!
Last night Joey insisted that both Greg and I put him to bed. Typically, we divide and conquer (and it’s very efficient). I had the chance to see how Greg does things (and they were sooo cute that I had to video tape them!)
Next, it was my turn to do our bedtime routine…
Still, after all of this individual attention, Joey managed to scream and cry and get me back in there for an additional 30 minute cuddle session 🙂

More 1st birthday celebrations!
We left the lake early on Sunday so we could get to Bubbles for Brooke and Aubrey’s 1st birthday celebration! Benji, again, had a blast singing and shaking all of the instruments! Joey loved pushing the cars around and climbing on everything. We’re definitely signing him up for a music class in the fall…
