Benji made it onto a toy box!
Now it’s time for early retirement….I’m not cut out to be a stage mom!

What an amazing opportunity we had a few weeks back. We took a “Silverman Girls” vacation in honor of Abby’s upcoming wedding. It was great for us to be able to get away together – without distractions.
We had our first round of drinks within 20 minutes of arriving!
The bride with her maid of honor!
Time for some water slides
I had to sit out of some of the slides because of Baby Gogo but was the camera woman instead…
I was able to join them for this one…Definitely scary going backwards and not knowing what’s next….
We enjoyed long dinners each night. Dinner @ Nobu on the first night and the fanciest tamago I’ve ever seen
MESA GRILL – Night 2
Wedding this weekend….can’t wait!
We didn’t make any big plans for New Years. I’ve still be sick & tired so I knew I wouldn’t want to stay out late. We decided to have a special night in with the kids. Joey and I cooked dinner together. He was in charge of the menu….
Of course, pasta with “dipping sauce” was his selection…We also made garlic bread and cappers salad.
For dessert, we introduced them to fondue!
They just kept licking the chocolate off of the fruit instead of eating it all together.
Trying to get more than his share
The baby will be arriving around June 29!
We found out the gender yesterday. When the doctor called, I was with my friend Hollie. I wanted to find out with Greg so I had the doctor tell Hollie and Hollie wrote down the gender in an envelope. I brought the envelope to Whole Foods and they created gender-specific cupcakes for us on the spot!
Although Joey was rooting for a boy (and still is), we think he’s going to make a fantastic big brother. Benji was too young to realize what was going on but he enjoyed face planting into the cupcake!
Back in October, I had fun telling Greg we were expecting….He was extremely surprised!
Joey and Aunt Michy came to my first doctor appt. We have been calling this baby “Baby Gogo” as I found out we were pregnant just 2 days before Bubbie Gogo passed away. I shared the news with only her and, of course, she kept my secret.
Nanny and Poppy took Joey for a special date this week while he was off from school. They got front row seats to the Three Little Pigs! He had a great time and talked about his adventure for days!
Benji did an amazing job at his check up. He was so interested in what the doctor was doing and followed her instructions so well. He didn’t even cry for his shots!
He weighed 27lbs – 50 percentile for his age
34″ tall – 50 percentile for his age
19 3/4 head circumference – 90 percentile for his age
We’ve been meaning to take the kids to an indoor water park for a while. Benji’s bday weekend was the perfect excuse to get away. The kids had such a blast…there was no better place for Benji to spend his bday!
We arrived Friday night in time for dinner and some time in the arcade.
The kids loved coming back to the room and jumping on the blow up bed.
Checking out the water park from above!
So happy!
Baby slides first…
Giving Benji a “helping hand”
Time for the 4-story slide!
Looking on
Benji’s turn….
Dry hair and clothes!
In typical Goodman fashion, Benji pooped in the pool (causing a 30-minute evacuation while they scooped the poop and treated the water)
Abby was having her bachelorette party with her girlfriends this weekend at the lakehouse. Mom and I swung by the spa to lunch with the ladies who all seemed to be enjoying their massages!
One night was definitely enough at the waterpark. We returned early to celebrate Benji’s bday/Hannukah with Bubbie, Zeyde, Nanny & Poppy.
We can’t believe our little monkey is two!
Enjoying the cake!
Trying out his new birthday present present from Bubbie and Zeyde!
It ended up being a great decision to come home early. Both boys ended up throwing up that night and we had one sleepless night!
The kids had a fabulous week celebrating Hannukah!
Getting ready…
We first celebrated with the Bohrer’s. Lucy came over with her parents and the kids read Hannukah books, had dinner, sung songs and exchanged gifts!
Check out Joey’s excitement!
On Thursday the kids had a Hannukah celebration at school. Joey even performed a few songs with his classmates!
Joey’s sole focus was getting to the Hannukah cookies!
Aunt Abby left work to come see his performance!
Of course, Joey’s groupies were there too!
“Decorating” Hannukah Cookies with Breanna
Lunch and Hannukah shopping with Grandma Poo Poo
Celebrating with the Silvermans
Hannukah – Night 3!
Thanks for the work bench Bubbie and Zeyde!
By the last night of Hannukah, both kids had come down with a nasty cough and cold. Despite this, they found enough energy to open up the last of their gifts!
Loving his new hat from Nanny and Poppy!
There was a Menorah making workshop at Home Depot a few weeks ago. Zeyde took Joey all by himself!
Donuts after their masterpiece was complete
He came back in one piece and covered in blue paint! The “menorah” they created somehow ended up in the trash 🙁
Benji and I dropped Joey and Greg off at a birthday party. This was the beginning of a meltdown that lasted over an hour. Once Greg said the word, “bye” and Benji realized he wasn’t going with, he was done.
I tried running errands with him anyway….
After 10 minutes of wrestling him back into the car, I was finally able to get the door shut. The tantrum continued for another 20 or so until I could convince him to sit in Joey’s seat and watch a movie.
Later that week….
Look who surprised Joey at school this week! They selected the perfect book….Steam Train, Dream Train
The kids came down with fevers and colds the day before Thanksgiving. Greg and I soon followed suit….Thanksgiving is just not our holiday!
We had what seemed like the longest weekend home with the boys. Despite being trapped inside, we had a lot of quality family time!
Poppy threw himself a birthday party this year at Morton’s (his favorite restaurant). We were so happy to celebrate all together, as we would end up being sick on Thanksgiving!
Gary, Tamar, Eli and Jordan were in town and the boys had a blast getting to know each other again.
Happy birthday, Poppy!
Poppy was smart to get a private room. The boys were chasing each other around most of the meal.
