I took Joey to Gymboree this morning to see if he would like it. He LOVED it, as he was able to move throughout the entire class! We signed up for a Wednesday morning class through February 🙂
Benji had some new friends over this afternoon while Joey napped. He wasn’t a great host, though, sleeping almost the entire time.

I was outnumbered by kids at the doctor yesterday. How brave (or stupid) am I? Joey had to go in for a weight check to see if he finally gained some weight (he did, yah!) and Benji had his 1 month checkup.
Benji was hungry just as we were leaving so he fed himself in route.

Joey still strongly dislikes the doctor and cried his eyes out while getting weighed…
Benji was such a show off for the doctor. He rolled from front to back and smiled for Dr. Cetner during his exam 🙂 He checked out perfectly! He weighed 10lbs 12oz (90%), his head measured 16″ (above the 98%), and he was 23″ long (98%).
Benji got some new books from Edie and Murray this week. Joey is loving “borrowing” them until Benji is old enough to turn the pages himself.
What an awesome first month we have had with Benji! He still remains very “easy,” only fussing when he needs something. He’s been spending more time awake this last week, but still sleeps a 5 and 7 hour stretch at night (most nights). He’s also excels at passing gas 🙂 He really doesn’t like a wet diaper, loves smiling for Mommy, sleeps best when swaddled, is drinking about 5 ounces at a time, loves his binkie (and the swing), and loves being burped! We’re beginning to hear some babbling, too!

I took Joey to nursery school on Friday. Bubbie Gogo came and joined us!

We had Sophie’s baby naming today. She was absolutely perfect the whole time! Joey and Benji wore matching outfits the shul for the special event. They looked adorable!
I spent the afternoon helping Michele prepare for Baby Burnett. One thing’s for sure…he’ll definitely be well dressed! #lastcallatneimans

We did Benji’s newborn shoot when he was 6 days old. He (for once) had a hard time staying asleep so we spent a great deal of time just waiting around! Lidia did a GREAT job with the shoot (and the editing) and I highly recommend her!

3.5 weeks and I’m getting lots of smiles (Greg is still waiting patiently)!

We let Greg sleep in Saturday morning while I spent time with the boys. We had a “no TV” rule and played with just about every toy we own. Benji slept 90% of the time so Joey got my full and undivided attention!
Joey has realized Benji is here to stay and he’s welcoming him with open arms!
3 weeks
Benji finally had his first “bad night” last Thursday, waking every 2-3 hours. Yes, we realize we’re very lucky! We’ve gotten to know him more and more each day. His two favorite things are smiling and passing gas (sometimes doing them simultaneously)
So far, I think Joey only really knows blue….
Greg and I got out, just the two of us, on Saturday night. We had an awesome dinner at Joe’s (we love our Hannukah gift cards from Nanny and Poppy)! Thanks for babysitting, Aunt Cari!
I’m so glad I’m able to take Joey to class now! He’s able to do so much more than when I took him just a month ago 🙂

Benji is still acting pretty perfect, only crying when hungry, wet, tired or gassy. Once we figure out which of the 4 it is, he’s happy (and usually sleeping) again!

Playdate Thursday
We had the chance to meet our nephew Jordan yesterday! Jordan is just two months younger than Joey so we’ve been able to watch him grow (through photos) right along with Joey for his entire life! It was great to finally see him in person!
Joey AND Benji spent the day yesterday with Nanny, Poppy and Debrah.
We headed back to the Waxes late yesterday afternoon to spend more time with Gary, Tamar and Jordan.

Zeyde has been hard at work building a train set special for his grandkids. Joey got to see it for the first time on Monday and has asked me to play this video about a dozen times since!
Billy and Michele came over on Sunday to hang with the boys. After about an hour, Billy needed to go home for a nap (and Michele needed a donut)….Joey really gave them a workout!
Benji slept the entire time!
This week was an extremely difficult one for so many. It was time to say goodbye to Sarah, my oldest friend. We went to elementary school, middle school, high school and college together. Sarah was literally the nicest person I have ever met. She was a great friend until the end. It’s still unbelievable that she’s gone, but many of us find comfort in the fact that she’s no longer suffering after a long battle with cancer. I’m so glad we’ll once again be able to remember the countless good times we had now that she is in a better place…
