We had a doctor’s appointment this afternoon (32.5 weeks) and an ultrasound! Greg met our new doctor and really liked him. We saw Baby Goodman for the first time in 3 months and, boy, has he grown! The first thing we saw when the screen lit up was a full head of hair. Next, the doctor showed Greg the baby’s “boy parts.” We listened to his heartbeat (133bpm) and checked the development of all of the vital organs. Baby Goodman is definitely flexible…His head is all the way down and he’s in a pike position (feet are down and butt in the air). Finally, Dr. Sibul took measurements because Baby Goodman has been measuring a few weeks ahead throughout our pregnancy. Baby Einstein’s head size is in the 99th percentile (measuring 36 weeks). My siblings have already gotten a kick out of this statistic (calling him Bobble Head). His leg is measuring average length (60th percentile) and his stomach is also measuring on the large side. Overall, his measurements averaged out to a 34.4 week baby (two weeks large). This DOES NOT mean Baby Goodman will be early, just that he’ll be BIG and pushing him out may prove more challenging. I go back in two weeks for a quick checkup and then we start going once a week until Baby Goodman arrives.
Here is a few minutes of today’s ultrasound (make sure you have your sound up as it is difficult to know what you’re looking at without it):
