On Friday morning, we decided to skip nursery school and let the boys have a lazy morning while we got ourselves together to leave.
It was hilarious trying to get us ready/loaded in the car.
I have NO idea how my mom did it with 6! Fortunately, Aunt Abby flew out with us so we had an extra set of hands.
The boys were perfect at the airport/on the plane.
Joey had fun exploring the airport and checking out the planes. I can only imagine the germs he discovered throughout the journey.
Joey only slept for 20 minutes the entire flight. He had SO much fun checking out the planes, using his own iPad and pressing all of the buttons at his seat.
On Saturday, we went to the train park. We had been here with Joey during our last visit, but we were really excited for this trip because he’s so obsessed with trains. He had a blast checking out the huge trains, riding on the carousel and playing on the playground.
Patiently waiting for the train to pull up
SO excited!
Grandma and Grandpa being silly with Benji
We hung in Sunday morning and played with Joey’s new train set. Grandma and Grandpa picked it up special for him!
Here’s a rare shot of Benji sleeping (he slept VERY little while we were away).
On Sunday afternoon, Greg and Ron went to the Cubs game while Abby, Beverly and I took a class at Sur La Table. Abby and I really liked making the fresh pasta, so much so that we’re going to give it a try at home!
Sunday night, Abby and Alex came over for an Oscar party. Beverly cooked us a nice dinner and the boys had a blast playing with Grandpa
Late Sunday night I decided I couldn’t wait another day to meet Noah so I packed up and got organized while Greg and Benji slept.
VERY early Monday morning
Greg had his hands full for the next few days, being a single parent. He did GREAT! They went to Frontier Town on Monday afternoon, where Joey had a blast checking everything out!
Monday night they stayed in to meet the Jones’ and the Lippincotts. Joey loved playing with one of his baby toys.
Tuesday morning, Joey couldn’t wait for his waffles to toast…
On Tuesday afternoon they went to the Cubs game.
Joey enjoyed running around in the outfield throwing the new balls Grandpa got for him.
Greg and Joey both made it home in one-piece. I was SO excited to pick them up from the airport tonight. When we got him, Joey climbed up the stairs and reunited with his trains immediately.
Thanks, Grandma and Grandpa, for an awesome extended weekend. We cant wait to come back!
