Benji had his 4 month appointment earlier this week. He checked out great, as expected!

Joey came with to the appointment and was a great helper to the doctor, who let him participate in the exam.

Aunt Abby & Aunt Cari had another adventure out with Joey yesterday! They took him to a Kane County Cougars game! Alex was there scouting some of the players so it was a perfect opportunity for Joey to see what he does! Joey had a blast, despite it being during his nap time!

Thanks, Abby & Cari, for another memorable day!! Joey couldn’t wait for Greg to get home tonight so he could go outside and work on his batting some more!
4 Month Developments:
He’s still the happiest baby we’ve ever met-he cracks up at just about anything!
He’s not a great napper, unless he’s in his crib
He’s becoming more and more vocal
He still MUST still be swaddled in order to sleep well at night (we tried giving it up a few weeks ago and it DID NOT go well)
He wakes up 1-2 times per night, but only eats once
He LOVES watching Joey play
His attention span is about 20 minutes (in bouncer or on play mat)
He still tries everything he can to lay his eyes on the television
He’s trying hard to sit up on his own but he’s not quite there
He hates getting in his carseat but doesn’t mind the car once its moving
He loves watching us eat…just another month or so until it’s his turn!
Joey wanted some time in the spotlight….
His unique hairline is still very prevalent
Aunt Cari and Aunt Abby came bearing gifts this Shabbat! Authentic cowboy boots from Nashville arrived for Joey, Noah and Sophie!

Greg and I woke up bright and early to spend some quality time with Benji! He’s 4 months old today!
We packed him up and headed out for our first date with JUST him in 4 months!
Off to Kingsbury Cafe we went!
Bubbie and Zeyde took a special adventure with Joey today. They road the train ALL over the city! This was Joey’s 1st real train ride! They said he LOVED being on the EL above ground but was indifferent to the subway…
Joey’s nursery school got flooded so class was cancelled this week. He got to spend some quality time with Nanny and Debrah instead! He was able to (accurately) tell me all about their adventures when I got home from work-how neat!
Our kitchen is finally coming together! The photo project took a LOT of work and planning, but we’re so happy with how it turned out.
I shopped for frames this weekend and found the perfect ones at IKEA of all places (note: white square frames are VERY difficult to find!)!
Greg and I tried hanging them ourselves last night. In 3 hours, we made no absolutely no progress and even broke a frame.
I called in a professional today and he got it done in under 2 hours!

We had an impromptu dinner with Aunt Michy and Noah tonight!

On Friday night we hosted Shabbos. Gogo got here early enough to hang with the kids before dinner….

On Saturday, Nanny and Poppy babysat so Greg and I could each go out our separate ways. The boys went to celebrate Alex’s 30th and the girls went to Siena Tavern for dinner. Needless to say, I had the AM shift on Sunday morning.
Joey’s been working hard on his puzzles these days. We’re SO impressed that he can put them together on his own!
On Sunday afternoon, we headed to the park with Noah for some fresh air. It was beautiful outside!

Last night, Aunt Cari picked Joey up for a 1:1 date. Off to Mariano’s they went!
He came home with sticky hair, but had a GREAT time, as always!
Lucy came over for a playdate this weekend! It was such a gorgeous day that we walked to the park!
The kids lasted about 1 minute on the swing before Joey asked to go watch the kids on the basketball court. He then spotted the softball players so we headed to watch them play for a few minutes…

I got the kids out of the house yesterday morning so Greg could sleep in and take the morning off. We had a play date with Sopharella!
Yesterday afternoon was one of the more exciting moments for us as parents. We got to play tee ball with Joey for the first time! He had a BLAST! Not even the rain could stop him- we were outside for an hour!
He started by getting some instruction from Alex…
He eventually learned to hold the bat with 2 hands. Every time we would say “two hands,” he’d drop the bat to check out his hands. When we changed it to “hold the bat with two hands,” he caught on quickly!
Such concentration!
Anytime we would say “homerun” he would just take off running. I’m going to get some bases for him for next time!

We took the week off from Shabbat at Bubbie and Zeyde’s to stay in and have Poppy cook dinner! Yum 🙂 Tonight was our last Shabbat at our awkwardly-shaped table before our new one arrives on Thursday!

Silly Bubbie left Joey’s diaper bag and stroller at home. They made do, though!
Off to Navy Pier they went to visit Thomas!
Although Joey really loved the ride, he was really focused on the Thomas merchandise in the center of it. He cleaned up, coming home with 4 new shirts!
