Dinner with Joey

Michelle stopped by for an impromptu visit yesterday while I was cooking dinner!

Bubbie picked up Joey yesterday afternoon for a sleepover in the burbs.  It was SUCH a nice break for Greg and I!  We forgot how easy it is with one-we felt like we were on vacation!

They had a blast at Northbrook Court, climbing on the jungle gym and dining at Claim Company

He came back early this morning and made breakfast and painted with Breanna!

Joey has been really into puzzles lately.  He’s definitely making some progress with fitting the puzzle pieces together, although he definitely cannot do it on his own yet!

He did say his first 5-word sentence a few days ago: “Get Benji out of bed”.  We LOVE that he can express what he needs/wants!

Husky

Bye Bye Swaddle?

We’ve been trying to break Benji of the swaddle all weekend long.  He’s been rolling for quite some time, and we’re told he should no longer be swaddled if he’s rolling.

He disagrees with the doctor and has made sure to let us know how he feels.  Last night, he woke up (and wouldn’t go back to bed) 11 separate times.  He finally fell asleep in my arms on the rocking chair at 4am.  You bet thats where I stayed until he awoke again at 6.  Tonight, he’s been down for 2 hours.  He’s woken up 3 times so far.  Wish us luck!

The good news is that Joey’s warming to his buddy, Benji!

Spring?

Joey spent the day with Nanny and Poppy!  They tried going to a museum, but they were swamped with spring breakers.  Instead, they hung at their apartment with Thomas and his Friends.

This afternoon, we ventured out with the kids.  It was the nicest its been in months so we had to take advantage!  We strolled to Mariano’s and back and all of the kids were on their best behavior!

Joey’s new favorite thing is to treat Benji as he would a pet.  He says “trick” any time he wants Benji to roll over.  Silly Benji usually does as Joey asks.

We spent night 2 at the Silvermans.  Before heading over there, we stopped by the Goodmans to see Pippin.  Pip barely said “hello” to me, but he definitely remembered Greg!

We spent the first night of seder at the Waxes.  The highlight of our night was seeing Joey play with his cousins.  He had a BLAST and continues to ask when he’s going to see them again!

Nursery School with Aunt Kate!

22 Months!

Counts from 1-15 (sometimes starts at 6)

Can accurately tell us about his day (which is amazing now that I’m back at work!)

Knows most of the “ABCs” song

Favorite Book: The Little Engine That Could, Anything Mo Williams (Pigeon Gets a Cookie, Pigeon Gets a Hotdog)

Loves everything about Shabbat- challah, nursery school, bubbie’s house, Sophie, “juice”, Thomas kippah

Obsessed with Thomas & Friends

He’s still having a hard time showing affection for Benji, although he’s making small gains each day!

I went to Mom’s Night Out last night so Greg was in charge.  Stacy came over to hang before we had to get to dinner.  She got some great quality time in with Benji!

3 months old!

3 Month Developments:

Rolling from back to front

Trying to eat his entire fist

Sleeping on his side

Farting like CRAZY (so loud too!)

Still prefers breast milk to formula

LOVES watching Joey play

HATES a wet diaper (but it is getting better)

Tries everything he can to lay his eyes on the television

Noah visits!

Noah came to hang for a few hours yesterday so Aunt Michy could go to the dentist.

Welcome back, Nanny and Poppy!

We haven’t seen Nanny and Poppy in weeks!  We told Joey they were coming to visit this morning and he was thrilled!  Howard made a wonderful breakfast while Nanny got some quality “hang out” time in with Benji.  We got to Facetime with Jordan, Tamar and Gary while they were here, too!
