Abby and Cari came over last night with groceries, cooked dinner, cleaned up, entertained the kids, bathed Joey and put them both to bed! Wow…amazing aunts!
Hollie came over for dinner on Monday night! She spent most of the time just laughing at us. I think we changed 10 diapers during the 2.5 hours she was here.
Benji graduated to his crib last night.
We decided that his night-time sleeping couldn’t get any worse (he’s been getting up hourly), so we might as well give it a shot! He woke up every 2 hours but only needed 1 bottle so our visits were quick! We’re hoping he’ll be a little more comfortable in a few days, especially because I return to work on Monday!
I spent the afternoon with Noah and Michele yesterday. Noah is getting bigger every day, but is still such a little peanut!
Last night we went to Friends & Family at American Junkie. The upstairs has an AMAZING retractable roof, unlike anything else in the city. I can definitely see the boys spending some time up there…
Yummy dessert!
12 weeks today!
Joey is going on Day #3 with no nap. Fortunately, he’s happy to spend quiet time in his crib (for now)
Breanna and Joey are still getting in some 1-on-1 time while Benji naps! They’re having fun baking muffins and playing with Play-Doh (which Joey finally enjoys!)
We borrowed the chair below from the Bohrers so we had another safe place for Benji to lounge. Joey’s enjoying it too!
I decided on a Burberry-themed Shabbat last night. Since they looked so nice, I snapped some photos before we left for dinner.
We got to Bubbie and Zeyde’s early so the kids could go swimming. Aunt Lori, Uncle Vinnie and Zeyde took the kids in the pool.
Noah just chillin’
Joey didn’t love the pool so he only lasted a few minutes (Greg is going to take swimming lessons with him in the near future).
He was much happier playing with his trains…
Benji used his kippah to block the light so he could snooze….
Yummy cheeks!
Joey spent the night with Bubbie and Zeyde AND Benji slept through the night (at home with us). I felt like a different person waking up this morning at 9AM!
Bubbie, Zeyde, Lori & Vince took Joey and Sophie to the museum in the morning.
Greg, Benji and I headed up north to see the Bohrers new home!
We met them all for lunch and Manny’s (Joey’s favorite new restaurant). He ate EVERYTHING!
We didn’t let a foot of snow keep us inside today! I got Benji down for a nap and we headed outside to explore! Joey’s still a little unsure of the snow, as we’ve had so few opportunities to play in it this year!
The morning started with Joey cooking us breakfast in Benji’s new kitchen (Benji’s letting Joey borrow it until he’s old enough to enjoy it himself! Greg spent 3 hours assembling it yesterday-what a great dad!)
Joey made “egg and cheese sandwiches” for all and tasted them to make sure they came out just perfect!
Benji got in some great tummy time on the bubble wrap
We worked on his sitting too!
Joey was hilarious as we were getting him ready for the bris. He wanted to wear his Thomas “hat” to Bubbie’s (we had to distract him to get the underwear off his head).
We compromised on sunglasses instead
We arrived and saw very little of Joey after that. He asked for “basement” immediately upon arriving and spent the entire day playing downstairs.
Bubbie did a great job with the “Noah’s Ark” theme. Check out the awesome balloons!
Joey woke up early from his nap yesterday. He was excited to get to dinner! He kept saying “Shabbat. Bubbie’s house”. I kept explaining to him we were going to the Burnetts instead but reassured him that Bubbie would be there. While waiting for Greg to get home from work, Joey had a one-man dance party….
Benji was busy hanging in his crib
In just a few weeks he’ll be able to crawl out of his crib 🙁
It was nice and convenient- we were able to walk right over!
Joey was reunited with challah, after missing it last week when we were visiting grandma and grandpa. He was SO happy!
Bubbie GoGo hanging with Joey
Ricky and Hilary got some quality time in with Benji last night! Ricky says he likes Benji cause he’s “chill”.
Burnett family photo
Joey loved hanging with Uncle Ricky last night
Benji and Aunt Lori got a lot of quality time in, too!
On Friday morning, we decided to skip nursery school and let the boys have a lazy morning while we got ourselves together to leave.
It was hilarious trying to get us ready/loaded in the car.
I have NO idea how my mom did it with 6! Fortunately, Aunt Abby flew out with us so we had an extra set of hands.
The boys were perfect at the airport/on the plane.
Joey had fun exploring the airport and checking out the planes. I can only imagine the germs he discovered throughout the journey.
Joey only slept for 20 minutes the entire flight. He had SO much fun checking out the planes, using his own iPad and pressing all of the buttons at his seat.
On Saturday, we went to the train park. We had been here with Joey during our last visit, but we were really excited for this trip because he’s so obsessed with trains. He had a blast checking out the huge trains, riding on the carousel and playing on the playground.
Patiently waiting for the train to pull up
SO excited!
Grandma and Grandpa being silly with Benji
We hung in Sunday morning and played with Joey’s new train set. Grandma and Grandpa picked it up special for him!
Here’s a rare shot of Benji sleeping (he slept VERY little while we were away).
On Sunday afternoon, Greg and Ron went to the Cubs game while Abby, Beverly and I took a class at Sur La Table. Abby and I really liked making the fresh pasta, so much so that we’re going to give it a try at home!
Sunday night, Abby and Alex came over for an Oscar party. Beverly cooked us a nice dinner and the boys had a blast playing with Grandpa
Late Sunday night I decided I couldn’t wait another day to meet Noah so I packed up and got organized while Greg and Benji slept.
VERY early Monday morning
Greg had his hands full for the next few days, being a single parent. He did GREAT! They went to Frontier Town on Monday afternoon, where Joey had a blast checking everything out!
Monday night they stayed in to meet the Jones’ and the Lippincotts. Joey loved playing with one of his baby toys.
Tuesday morning, Joey couldn’t wait for his waffles to toast…
On Tuesday afternoon they went to the Cubs game.
Joey enjoyed running around in the outfield throwing the new balls Grandpa got for him.
Greg and Joey both made it home in one-piece. I was SO excited to pick them up from the airport tonight. When we got him, Joey climbed up the stairs and reunited with his trains immediately.
Thanks, Grandma and Grandpa, for an awesome extended weekend. We cant wait to come back!
I was shocked to receive the call from my mom that Michele’s water broke. Greg, Joey, Benji and I had arrived in Arizona the night before to visit Grandma and Grandpa. We specifically planned the trip 3 weeks before her due date to ensure we wouldn’t miss it (no Silverman has ever delivered a baby early/on time).
All I can say is thank goodness for Facetime and cell phones. Cari did a great job keeping us informed all day.
Despite how bummed we were to miss it, all that really matters is they delivered a beautiful, healthy, 5lb 15oz baby boy, Noah Charlie!
This photo really shows how teeny tiny he is compared to the pacifier
Benji and I came home a few days early from Arizona to meet him. We just couldn’t stay away another day! I made it to the hospital just in time for him first photo shoot…such a natural.
Aunt Abby babysat Benji last night so I could get some one-on-one time with my nephew
