Greg has been in San Fran the last few days! Joey has been asking about him lots! Every time the door opens he shouts “Daddy” and lights up :). Here’s a video of them rough housing before he headed out!
Here’s Benji working on some tummy time!

Here’s Benji working on some tummy time!
Holy smokes, this was the quickest 2 months of my life! Where has the time gone?
I’m so glad we made it through last night- I HATE SHOTS (and, apparently, so does Benji, as he was up every hour last night).
Benji had his 2 month appointment today! The doctor was running behind so we did some tummy time while we waited. Doesn’t it look like he’s working sooo hard?!
He’s growing like a weed and doing great! He’s tracking us with his eyes, rolling over (front to back), cooing, etc.
Weight: 13lbs 10oz (90%)
Length: 23.5″ (90%)
Head: 16 3/8 (98%)
Benji crashed hard when he got home (he napped for almost 4 hours)
The nap was short-lived, though
For some reason MJ’s 50th really made me feel old. I knew him during his “youth” and now he’s a 1/2 century old! My brother was watching top 5o moments and found this video. Check out my dad and Bob Wigoda twenty-some years ago (don’t worry, you’ll be able to spot them)!
Benji LOVES his sleep (except at 4AM, when he would rather chat with me)! He has a 1.5 hour threshold where he can be awake. Anything beyond that, he begins to fuss. Fortunately, he has no problem passing right out, regardless of where he is!
Joey “reading” Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site (“Night, night site” is what he calls it)
Last night we went to the Siena Tavern opening. Nanny and Poppy stayed home with the boys and got some quality time in!
The entire cast from Chicago Fire was there (they’re in the background of this shot)
Greg and I were trying to remember the last night we were at a bar all night together….After 5 minutes, we still couldn’t figure it out!
Benji had his first photo shoot yesterday. We prepped by taking a bath and practicing his poses….
A quick diaper change and he was ready to go!
He was so well behaved, the photographer got what he needed in under 20 minutes!
Aunt Lori has volunteered to be their “stage mom” when I return to work next month!
We had fun celebrating all day today! Joey checked out his bedroom door for a few minutes and learned the “heart” shape.
The morning began with a special visit from Bubbie, who made an appearance to kiss the boys (and to bring them gifts). Joey made out with this awesome race track…
He had a blast playing with it every chance he got! Hopefully when he wakes up tomorrow, he’ll have forgotten all about it (we put it away until he’s a little bit older).
Next, we met Nanny and Poppy for breakfast at Meli. Benji was on his best behavior and Joey was finally able to reveal his Valentine’s Day cards he’s been working so hard on (I forgot to snap a photo)!
After breakfast we headed to the loop to get work permits for both boys. We had the opportunity to meet with an agency and have decided to give it a try. Benji booked his first photo shoot already (it’s tomorrow) so we’ll be sure to report back on how it went! Joey was thrilled to have Burger King for lunch…
We spent the afternoon at home getting dinner ready for Greg. Big thanks to Pinterest for the recipes!
Heard-shaped noodles
We snapped a few shots before Joey trashed his outfit at dinner…
Joey was NOT happy when it was time to stop playing to eat dinner
Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Did ANYTHING get in his mouth?
Washing them down with some milk!
I ordered a whole bunch of new clothes for the boys and they arrived today! Joey had a BLAST trying them on (and trying to play football in his sun glasses).
Michele’s been hard at work getting Siena Tavern open before Baby Burnett’s arrival! We finally had the big reveal last night and it did not disappoint!
My personal favorites were the fill-your-own donut dessert (shocker) and the pizza; Greg was all about the meatball!
The head chef is Fabio Viviani, who was on Season 5 of Top Chef (see photo below)!
Congrats, Michy! We can’t wait to enjoy the massive patio this summer, with all of the kids in tow!
We’ve been working on Joey’s numbers and letters the past few weeks. He has “1, 2, 3, 4” down and can even do one-to-one correspondence. He also loves trying to sing the Alphabet song. Here he goes!
Our bald eagle flying high in the air….
Between Hannukah, my shopping problem and Benji’s birth, a package arrives nearly every day. When the doorbell rings, Joey announces “presents!” Fortunately, he doesn’t care what’s in the box, he just cares that he is able to open it!
Friday morning, Joey and I headed to class. Bubbie stopped by for a bit on her way downtown. Joey was thrilled to see her and cried hysterically when it was time to say “goodbye”.
Friday afternoon, Abby and Alex came to hang with the boys for a bit. We went to check out a potential location for Joey’s 2nd birthday party. Shockingly, Joey was only interested in the trains…
Friday night, we skipped Shabbat to go to dinner with Jessie, Aaron, Hollie, Mike and Charles. Abby and Alex were kind enough to bring the boys to dinner so we didn’t have to go back and forth (they quickly learned a simple car trip is anything but “simple”). After 20 minutes in the car, they were ready to hand the kids off to Bubbie!
Benji dressed for the occasion
Bubbie hugs
Thanks to Aunt Cari, Joey learned two new words…
We had a blast at dinner! So much so, that I woke up Saturday morning with no voice 🙁 While we were busy at dinner, Bubbie and Zeyde watched the kids. Bubbie “ran out of milk” so fed Benji some of Lori’s frozen breast milk. She also gave the boys baths. Here’s how Benji was dressed when we went to pick him up….
“Daddy’s Little Princess”
Saturday afternoon we had a private CPR/Heimlich Maneuver class at our house as a refresher (and in preparation for Baby B)! Everyone was there, except Vince who was home with a cold 🙁
After 21 months, it was time to buy a hair brush for Joey!
All smiles!
By Saturday evening, the entire Goodman clan had come down with colds (even Benji) 🙁 Hopefully, we’ll all bounce back quickly and be nice and healthy for Arizona!
